Akhtar Khan Became President of Lake City Press Club
On Sunday 23rd January, Udaipurtimes.com’s dedicated reporter and Udaipur’s Photo Journalist Akhtar Hussain Khan was elected as new president of Lake City Press Club- a registered organization for Udaipur’s journalists.
Akhtar Khan was elected unopposed by the club members. Many senior most journalists were present in this annual presidential election of Lake City Press Club.
Akhtar Khan is considered as one of the prominent figure among Udaipur’s photo journalists. Prior he’d worked with Dainik Bhaskar for nearly 12 years; Akhtar is now giving freelance services to many news groups including The Times of India.
He is the first photo journalist to become the president of Lake City Press Club. The ex-president Nareshwar Rao assigned his work to Akhtar Khan.
In the year 1997, Lake City Press Club was founded by few veteran Journalists of Udaipur including Rituraj (Freelance journalist), Prakash Sharma ( Editor Dainik Bhaskar, Pali), Bhupendra Singh Rao (Rajasthan Patrika) and Rafiq Khan ( Rashtra Doot). The aim of club is to unite journalists of Udaipur for social and professional empowerment, to give a common platform and a general identity to all local media personnel. Today the organization has 92 members and it’s still growing.
I congratulate Akhtar Khan for his achievement and wish to see more developments in Lake City Press Club.
